board the car, step the accelerator.
the engine's not cold, we're all ready to go.
from our parking lots we leave slowly.
step the clutch, a hand on the gearbox,
its time to pull on, to amp up.
gear after gear, stage after stage,
a velocity increasingly increasing, a needle on the dashboard always climbing?
the pace will only get faster.
from the little road to the house and out into the mains,
connected, like veins, into the rushing expressway.
like as though in the foreign land, far away,
to sit in within, and stare at the cars in the other lanes zooming quickly.
was it not going fast enough?
already stepping on 120, yet it seemed a snail relative to the mad 160s, the furious 170s.
A speed that is relative.
every morning, to wake up,
its all too late, the gantry's gonna operate!
"we fight the blues", but please dont beat the rules.
smiling faintly at the many who crush their pedal with a feet
to try and make it, create a 705am feat?
our roads are interlinked, across a giant web.
hence to wonder, why the need for speed?
the little roads around the money sucker become clogged.
there is no convention, but only all paths to a destination.
dont take the easy route, dont get complacent with the narrow alleyways.
but it pains and wrecks every nerve each time to see so many, so many, trying aimlessly ahead of the gantry.
destination, down the highway or a slow lane?
shrugging gently, arriving at a same point with a phase difference 10minutes late.
perhaps, reaching a little less soon
occasionally, get a demerit or two.
and to still be able to be in school?
to be a fool? what if, i think i am happier than you?
thanks for showing the way, but i think i'd want to take the wheel.
away from the speed which so enthralls as much as it numbs
i think id just stick to my slow 20, just like my auntie.
hehe.
PS: USA is a place for the roadsters where 120kmh is slooooow. like, superslow.
bedok reservoir ERP does create many problems in the small roads of ubi.
thankfully, there's always the tennis courts to avoid pe teachers.
and no, my aunt doesnt drive that slow anymore :P
