Im gonna assume all my friends turn into overnight IT geeks who are as interested in this new OS as i am
this is very very short overview! ill make a full tutorial sometime later.
1. Download/torrent the cd image.
2. Burn onto a DVD OR make a bootable thumbdrive that works like a cd.
3. Partition the hard drive [split into 2 parts] so that it can install 2 OS.
note: format as ntfs for windows filesystems!
4. Insert dvd, restart com, and install onto blank partition.
note: thumbdrive method will need to access BIOS for startup booting.
5. let it finish. upon prompt of activation number, ignore and press next step. also do not enable automatic updates for windows by unchecking the box on install menu.
6. an unvalidated windows 7 is on com now. install video, sound, internet/network drivers.
7. activate by downloading an activator such as one by hazar or daz
8. validated windows 7 can access windows updates ^^ win. go patch system and you're somewhat there.
9. explore? and enjoy. and install more software and stuff.
